Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes

ree

Nothing changes if nothing changes. Ain’t that a kick in the old Schweddy Balls?

When you look at yourself in photos, what do you look at and then say to yourself habitually?

"Wow, bad hair day again."

"That dress makes me look terrible."

"Daggum, everyone else looks great and I look like a hot mess."

"I hope no one sees this. I’m going to untag myself."

"What is wrong with me?”

"Why do I always look so bad?"

Do you immediately find evidence for how bad you look or spend your time comparing yourself to everyone else in the photo?

We seem to all be doing this to ourselves.  What is the big deal, you might be asking?

It is an epidemic of negative self-talk that is such a corrosive habit.

Were you even aware that you are focusing on what you cannot change?

Since you cannot change the photo, why not just change something you can.

What can you change? The way you talk to yourself about yourself.

The habitual, negative self-talk is optional.

Speaking to yourself in kind and loving ways is also optional.

It is an inside out job. But nothing changes if nothing changes. One day at a time.
